چکیده

Sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitor (SGLT2i) reduces mortality and morbidity in patients with chronic heart failure (HF). However, the clinical implication of SGLT2i therapy acute decompensated HF remains uncertain. We prospectively studied 86 type diabetic mellitus (T2DM) (71.8 ± 12.1 years, 55 men) who were hospitalized for received during index hospitalization. Among patients, 56 continued at discharge 30 did not. The group experienced fewer re-hospitalizations than discontinued (24% versus 39%, P = 0.008) a hazard ratio 0.29 (95% confidence interval 0.10-0.85) adjusted other significant potential confounders. In conclusion, long-term might prevent unplanned re-hospitalization T2DM HF.

Acute and acute-on-chronic kidney injury of patients with decompensated heart failure: impact on outcomes

BACKGROUND Acute worsening of renal function, an independent risk factor for adverse outcomes in acute decompensated heart failure (ADHF), occurs as a consequence of new onset kidney injury (AKI) or acute deterioration of pre-existed chronic kidney disease (CKD) (acute-on-chronic kidney injury, ACKI). However, the possible difference in prognostic implication between AKI and ACKI has not been w...

Diuretic strategies in patients with acute decompensated heart failure.

BACKGROUND Loop diuretics are an essential component of therapy for patients with acute decompensated heart failure, but there are few prospective data to guide their use. METHODS In a prospective, double-blind, randomized trial, we assigned 308 patients with acute decompensated heart failure to receive furosemide administered intravenously by means of either a bolus every 12 hours or continu...
